Wasn't really sure where to put this as it's a bit of a rant! Why are riding lessons so expensive - £25 for 1/2 hour private - or £15 group????
I really can't afford it - she already has swimming lessons (sorta felt it was fairly essential) and ballet lessons (not so but she loves performing) and these are only 'cause her grandma helps with cost. And I can feel some sort of music lesson in the offing - trying to lean her away from violin and towards flute or clarinet at the moment :D

Riding lessons are like music lessons flipping expensive, we used to own a pony who we gave up because the kids didnt want to ride, so when she asked to ride at school I said no, if she wouldnt ride our pony she isnt riding another.

So instead she took on 3 musical instruments which costs far more

At least with music lessons you can sort of get by teaching yourself as well - our garden isn't big enough for a pony :D she'll just have to survive with her imaginary 4 or 5!!!!!

WOW that is expensive.

Joseph went for a while (had to stop because of his chest) and we were £10 for half an hour

Guess they are so expensive to cover the rising cost of looking after the animals.

Sophie has been going on and on about riding lessons. Where we are, it is £27 for a 30 minute lesson. They are not allowed to join a group lesson until they know the basics, and then it is £27 for an hour.

So we went once, and she LOVED it. She even told me that she loved Sam the pony more than Mummy :O That was about a month ago, so I agreed to do another lesson in the holidays. Then Billy piped up that he wants to ride too :dizzy: So on Friday they are both going, £54 :O :O :O

I am kind of hoping Billy doesn't enjoy it so that I only have to pay for one child in future.

When they sort the benefits out so that I get all £265 per month of Martha's maintenance rather than £20 - then I'll be able to afford it - we know it's happening just not when!
